The Red Tent Collective Corporation was established in 2023 by Dr. Lisa-Marie Del Rio, Psychologist, amidst a season of seeking a definition for woman, happening upon the numinosity of the feminine, and recognizing the need for community-based, sacred place to connect women to their personal power and heal collectively. Together, with other creative & passionate women, The Red Tent Collective will make it possible for adult women to receive support for their healing journey and be initiated into their fullest potential.
Women are a collective people.
We are hard-wired to respond to, think for, and heal within the collective.
Because females have more receptors for oxytocin, we are more sensitive to the actions of this bonding chemical, and therefore, social connections, including women’s circles, are a pillar of lifestyle medicine for us.
In ancient times, the red tent was a ritual tradition where menstruating women spent time resting together when the female body is naturally fatigued and highly intuitive.
In the red tent, we passed down our stories and healed through connection. Away from the demands of her environment, the woman can lay down her shield, her nervous system can relax, her system can return to a flow, and healing is now possible.
Under each new moon, in Virginia Beach, VA women will gather to receive education on women's health, to share our stories, be witnessed, and heal collectively.
The Red Tent Collective believes that woman is the medicine that the world is seeking.
And it is our hope to empower and uplift the sister next to us. Because her liberation is bound to ours.

The Red Tent Collective is concerned with wholeness, not perfection. We are concerned with soundness of moral principle, devotion, equanimity, and truth. We maintain that all parts of the woman are good and endeavor to call forward all of these parts, even seemingly opposing forces, together in a divine dialectic. Our practices are scientifically-grounded, ancestrally relevant, and spiritual astute.

The Red Tent Collective believes that every woman carries a spiritual power, revealing the nature of her Creator. Because of the womb she holds within, every woman is endowed with mysterious abilities that allow her to walk the border between the natural and the supernatural. And owning the numinous truth of woman’s identity re-institutes her complexity and serves as a reminder that the world was incomplete without her power.

The Red Tent Collective honors the heart as every woman’s supreme guide and the site of her own healing. When a woman works from her heart, she is acting in authentic bravery—unafraid to love, receive, and reveal her true self to the world. Women organically embody a different kind of strength: a selfless, courageous spirit that is reinforced by her own personal rhythm. Because she moves from her heart center, she reveals a strength in her softness and is a healer by nature.

The Red Tent Collective believes that the world is in desperate need of female leadership, and the Matriarchy rekindles the passion of visions lost and gathers the broken threads of spiritual pursuits with a new intensity and direction. The matriarch combines her sensuality with her ability to work diligently and effectively, influencing her community toward ascension and pro-social behaviors.

The Red Tent Collective supports the sovereignty of women, believing that they are the authority of their own lives, abilities, powers, bodies, and spirits. Each is entitled to become a woman unto herself—maintaining a power that is sourced from an intimate connection to herself. She is freed from that which attempted to enslave her, and in liberation, she is able to nourish a world that is in desperate need of her medicine.

Lisa-Marie Del Rio, Psy.D. (President + Founder)
Lisa-Marie is a clinical psychologist, licensed in Virginia, who guides women into their own underworld to restore identity after rupture, build a fluid harmony with the reconciled pieces of the self, and step into their personal power. Lisa-Marie maintains a private practice and combines archetype and conventional psychotherapy to restore female identity. She is also a prolific speaker and lover of words.
After engaging in her own quest for identity, she happened upon woman after woman endowed with a mysterious, supernatural power, and recognized the need for women's healing universally. Witnessing that healing in women happens collectively, the Red Tent Collective was born.
